Day 1:

This afternoon all the kids wrote {or drew pictures} in their journals while KJ napped.
It was so peaceful.

Day 2:

Rootbeer-flavored ice cream cones from A&W.
{no pictures}

It's been a crazy busy day. Not much time for a big adventure so we opted for ice cream cones.
Kempe picked me up an orange creamsicle shake. So yummy :)

Day 3:

We ended our summer fun at the ultimate place "where a kid can be a kid."
{pictures aren't so great 'cause I forgot the camera, and had to use my phone. Plus, they don't hold still for more than 2 seconds}

I very rarely drink caffeine, but the refillable Dr.Pepper was the only thing that was gonna get me through today's adventure.

Day 4:

Playing at Rocket Park.
We didn't get to play long 'cause it started to rain, but it was still fun.

{Don't ya love it when your kid presses his face up against the plexiglass window that has been touched by every other kid that has ever stepped foot at the park?}

This one wouldn't stop moving for one picture.

This one got a new hair cut for school.

Since our adventure got a little washed out, we decided to pick up some friends on the way home to play with.
Parker had Matthew over, but they were too busy hiding in their fort for me to get a picture.
The girls each had over their friend named Olivia.
So it was our Olivias playdate.
{They came out of their fort for a picture.}

Another great adventure, even if it was raining.

Day 7:

Today the kids wanted to play with friends.
And they all ended up going to their friends' houses.
So no pictures.
It was one lovely afternoon around here. :)

Day 8:

Do something nice for someone else.
The kids helped me make these chocolate chocolate chip cookies for a family who just lost a loved one.
We might have tasted a few of them too. :)

10 day Bucket List

So the kids have 10 days left of summer vacation.
I can't believe it.
Most of us are really excited for school to start.

Yesterday the kids and I sat down and made a Bucket List of things, or "adventures", {as we decided to call them}, that they wanted to do in the next 10 days.

There were only a few guidelines:
1 - Only one "adventure" per day.
2 - Everyone has to agree.
3 - Not everything could cost money, or be too expensive.
4 - Sunday adventures have to be Sunday appropriate

Today:
Bucket List Adventures: Day 10

We had a surprise birthday party for Grandma {Kempe's mom}
We went to the store and the kids each picked out something for Grandma. Then we went home and each of them wrapped their own gift.
They were so proud.

{please ignore the bags of DI stuff in the background}

Then we loaded and headed up to Grandma's house.
We had Hostess cupcakes and one with a lit candle in it for the birthday girl.
She loved it so much that she let the candle burn until it had melted completely onto the cupcake.
I forgot the camera. In fact, I realized that I even forgot to bring my phone when I thought about taking pictures with it.
Besides that,
the kids had fun celebrating with Grandma on her special day.
